NCDFREE has partnered up with Imperial College London to create our next short film that highlights the unequal burden of childhood obesity in West London. The film focuses on the power of community interventions and solidarity to tackle the increasing obesity epidemic.

On October 13, NCDFREE is proud to make it’s Scottish debut and global launch of the “Connecting Communities” short film.

Hosted by the University of Edinburgh, the event will have an exclusive film screening, followed by a Q&A with Rianne Steele, Connecting Care for Children Programme Coordinator; and a panel discussion with local researchers and advocates, exploring the wider issue of non-communicable diseases, the social determinants of health and what practical steps can be taken to tackle the obesity epidemic.

The lunch-time event is free to attend and will be held between 12:30 to 14:00 at the Medical School, University of Edinburgh. The event is held in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh’s Global PhD Network Committee. A small reception will follow.
