NCDFREE has partnered up with the Nutritional Health Alliance to tell the story of Mexico’s struggle with obesity and to document the change in momentum that has come with the country’s recently implemented soda tax. In the short film The Taste of Change, the story of Mexico’s pioneering sugar-sweetened beverage tax and the country’s battle with obesity is being told on film in English and Spanish for the first time since the legislation entered into effect in 2014.

On September 22, NCDFREE is hosting the Canadian film launch of The Taste of Change. The launch will bring together researchers, advocates, policymakers and doctors through key speakers and an expert panel to talk about sugar sweetened beverage taxation in Canada and how we can take a comprehensive approach to obesity.

See the impact of sugar at every level in Mexico – researchers who study the epidemic of obesity and diabetes, nutritionists who treat patients, and everyday people living with the disease. Their lives have been woven together by No Frontiers Media to tell this story and the ongoing trials Mexico faces to battle the burden of obesity and chronic diseases like heart disease, stroke and diabetes.

Reserve your free ticket and join us for a night of future-shaping in downtown Toronto!
